I would be lying if I said that I didn't love a little bit of rain on a wedding day. Sure, it makes the ground spongey and hair frizzy, but it creates such a wonderful ambiance. For highschool sweethearts, Tara and Mark, the rain held off during their ceremony at Birchbank Picnic Grounds, but started up maybe 5 minutes after we finished the family-portraits. You never know what sort of weather you're going to get on your wedding day here in the Kootenays! They were such good sports about it though, and they didn't let a bit of rain spoil a second of their very special day. After a sweet ceremony at Birchbank, guests were invited to Castlegar for a backyard reception (under tents) Guests mingled, nibbled on appies, helped themselves to cold beverages from two rustic wheelbarrows which were filled to the brim with every canned beverage you could ever want. This was a wedding where I wish I had my own designated driver because it was very tempting to stay after-hours to partake in the celebrations myself! But alas, I am a responsible driver and ever the professional. Wishing Tara, Mark, and their two beautiful daughters a lifetime of happiness. May a bit of rain never spoil your fun!
