If this pandemic is teaching me anything, it's that wedding don't need to be big in order to be utterly perfect. I'm pretty sure I knew that before, but all of the COVID-friendly nuptials that I've had the pleasure of shooting this summer have only gone to drive this point home. Sydney and Mike were originally planning a very large, 200 guest, wedding here in the Kootenays. When the pandemic hit, there were forced to scrap all of their hard work and everything they'd planned and began to explore the possibility of a destination wedding in 2021. However, their plans for a destination wedding were eventually also put aside due to a fear that a second (or third) wave of the pandemic would hit and force them to cancel-- resulting in a major loss of money put forth by their guests on travel arrangements. And so came the plan for a more local, south Okanagan, 49-person, desert-boho-vibes event. When Sydney originally told me about the plans for this wedding in June, she asked me if I thought se was crazy for attempting to put together and entire wedding on such short notice. I told her that after planning 2 other weddings already, if anyone could do a 3rd it would be her. Let's just say, she did not disappoint. Venue: The Lookout Osoyoos
