Jill and Doug did not let COVID-19 ruin their wedding day. When disaster struck this spring, the couple decided that their wedding day would move forward-- no matter what. If it meant that they had to elope, they would elope. If it meant that they had to wittle their 200 person guest list down to under 50, *and* change the venue to their own backyard, that's what they would do. And that's what they did.
But you know something? There wasn't a single moment of their wedding day that felt like a compromise. Sure, there were fewer guests, and sure people were distancing, wearing masks, and making use of the hand-sanitizer at every table setting... But love & celebration was still very much in the air. These two incredible people still made the biggest, and most important commitment of their lives together and it was completely perfect.
Another day, another set of clients who insists that they are terribly awkward in front of the camera. Pishhhhhh!
Carson and Kris are a prime example of why I urge all of my wedding clients to take advantage of my complimentary engagement photos offer. Going into the session, it was obvious that these two gorgeous humans did not know what to expect. They thought for sure that this would be another awkward, uncomfortable experience in front of a camera. But after just a few minutes of working together, I think I was able to show them that a unposed Wanderlust session is not like a traditional photo shoot!
While in front of my camera, I gave them dynamic and fun instructions to get them moving and engaging with each other (and their adorable dog!) naturally. Almost instantly I was able to see their true personalities emerge and those gorgeous, genuine smiles come out. These two piggy-backing images are literally within the first 10 shot that we took that day, and check out their faces! Not a shred of awkwardness to be seen.
Kudos to this fabulous couple for stepping outside of their comfort zone. We got some awesome photos and the count-down to their wedding next summer is officially on!
You know what I love? Big families. Golden summer evenings. Laughter, & love. And that is exactly what the T* Family embodies.
I have had the pleasure of working with this gorgeous family several times over the years, and it's always something that I count down the days for. And as if their 3 wonderful girls weren't enough-- they are about to welcome their 4th baby girl later this summer! So much joy and excitement!
