Everyday Breastfeeding ~ Jessica ~

Jessica was the first Mother to meet me to participate in my Everyday Breastfeeding Series. The aim of this series is to document and normalize what breastfeeding really looks like on a day-to-day basis. It's not all flower crowns, flowing white dresses, and fields of wild flowers. Usually it's messy houses, unmade beds, and greasy hair. Or, in Jessica's case, the back seat of her truck while out & about.

The flower crowns and wild flowers made for pretty pictures, and have their place, to be sure. But I want to show that there is beauty even in the mundane. Even when you're rushed, or stressed, not made-up. Even when your baby is teething hard, distracted, or refusing to latch.

Breast feeding is hard. And it's often not picture-perfect. But it's still beautiful.

I want to thank all of the mothers & babies who shared their time with me for this project. I appreciate it more than you know. More images to come.
