I don't like to play favourites with my weddings. I truly believe that every wedding is special, and each couple brings their unique flair, touches, and love to their special days. But every so often I get to shoot an event with a couple that changes me forever, that touches my very soul and leaves me shook. This year, that was Brad and Emily.

And you know something? I wasn't even surprised. From the very first moment I met this couple at their engagement session in the Fall of 2018, I suspected that they had that je ne sais quoi. And then when I edited the photos from their engagement session, I KNEW that they had it. This is a couple that brings an undeniable chemistry and ease to their sessions that makes me job as a photographer a cinch. And it doesn't hurt that they are both really, really, ridiculously good looking and have impeccable fashion sense to boot.

Oh, and did I mention that their wedding was going to involve a HELICOPTER RIDE TO THE TOP OF A MOUNTAIN?!

Brad and Emily split their wedding day up into two parts-- the private, mountain top ceremony for just their nearest and dearest... Followed by a huge reception at Brad's parent's beautiful home for all of their incredible friends.

The helicopter shuttled the couple and their 15 family members up to the tip-top of a craggy mountain deep in the heart of the beautiful West Kootenays. It was the perfect day-- sunny, and clear, and the view extended unobstructed thousands of kilometres in all directions. To this day I can hardly believe that it was real life.

Once vows, rings, and a sweet kiss was enchanted, the newly weds and their nearest & dearest, hopped back into the chopper for a night of revelry. Brad's family home just outside of Nelson, British Columbia was the absolutely perfect spot for nearly 200 guests to let loose and celebrate the new Mr & Mrs. They had a half dozen lawn games set up, a pig roasting over a spit, an open bar pouring some cold drinks, and so much love and laughter.

What an absolutely incredible day!
