Ally and Mitch said 'I Do' in the cozy backyard of Mitch's childhood home. With only their nearest and dearest (including their two adorable dogs!) they exchanged the sweetest, personalized vows. Mitch grew up in the mountain, ski town of Rossland British Columbia, and Ally grew up in coastal Prince Edward Island. Ally's friends and family were kind enough to make the big, cross-country journey just to be there for her big day. I love Rossland Weddings. The mountains. The trees. The views. The historic downtown. The friendly people and close-knit community. Everyone somehow knows everyone else-- either directly or by one degree of separation. I hope that Ally's Maritime loved ones enjoyed they stay in this wonderful corner of the globe. Ally and Mitch have many things in common-- a love of the outdoors, dogs, and winter sports, for example. Sadly they also both know what it is to lose a parent. They included the most touching tribute to their late Mother and Father in their ceremony that dampened every eye in the crowd. Mitch's beloved Father owned two gorgeous classic vehicles, and it was my honour and privilege to include his (now Mitch's) vintage Pontiac in Ally & Mitch's portrait session. I am certain that Ally's Mom, and Mitch's Dad were with us on Saturday and, where ever they are, are so proud of the incredible adults their children have grown up to become. After the ceremony, the gorgeous Wedding Party and I took downtown Rossland by storm, stopping for various photo ops as we came across them. This was such a fun crew, and we laughed for basically 2 hours straight as be bounced from place to place. A special shout out must be given to Rossland Beer Company who hosted all 12 of us for a rowdy pint of beer. The evening ended at Rossland's historic Miner's Hall, where guests ate, drank, and were merry well into the night. I only stayed until the start of dinner service, but based on how rowdy things were getting upon my departure at 7:30pm, I have little doubt that it was, indeed, a night to be remembered (or forgotten, depending on how many trips to the open bar one took!) A shout out to my second shooter Jesse, who was a rock star this wedding (and always!) Jesse will be shooting the majority of my 2018 weddings with me, and I am so pleased to have him back for a second season. He is the cheese to my photographic macaroni and I so appreciate his artistic eye, skills with sweeping landscape shots, and tolerance of my bossiness. You're one in a million, Jesse!
