Baby Maximus was born early on a chilly February morning to first time parents Mariah and Mark. When I arrived, their private hospital room was quiet and peaceful. Only the sounds of our footsteps on the linoleum floor, and the soft chatter of nurses that wafted down the hall from the nursing station.
Mark suggested putting on some music. He put on 'Father and Son' by Kat Stevens, and it took everything I had not to shed tears onto their perfect, warm, gorgeous, squishy baby boy as I worked.
It's not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to know
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy
I was once like you are now, and I know that it's not easy,
To be calm when you've found something going on
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you've got
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not
Wondering what a 'Fresh 48' session is? Typically done at a Hospital, Birthing Centre, or wherever baby was born, these very special sessions are meant to document your baby's very first hours of life, in all of their brand-new glory. They are shot documentary style, with little posing or props. If you are located in the Trail, BC area and are interested in more Kootenay Fresh 48 information, send me an email at email@example.com.
