Emily and Brad.
These freaking hustlers.
When Emily and I initially started emailing regarding booking their Wedding and Engagement Session, she told me that Brad "hated having his photo taken" and mentioned that a short session would probably be best. Ok, no problem! I am no stranger to clients who aren't super comfortable in front of the camera and I always aim to make things as short and painless as possible.
What she didn't tell me was that she and Brad were really, really ridiculously good looking. Also that they're SUPER in love and very snuggly. Also that she'd have along props like the perfect woolen, picnic blanket, and a robin's egg blue truck, and their outfits would be brilliantly styled... And, oh yeah, did she mention that the shoot would be on their wooded acreage with the dreamiest rustic backdrop options?
Needless to say, this 'short-session-because-brad-hates-having-his-photo-taken' session turned into a 1.5 hr long session that I had to PEEL MYSELF AWAY FROM because it was solid-freaking-gold from start to finish.
These two are getting married next summer, and I am basically counting down the days until it happens. If their wedding is anything like their enagement session, it's going to be cataclysmically incredible.
I first met Kylie and David very early this past summer when they were a bridesmaid and groomsman in one of the first weddings of my 2018 season. I remember distinctly taking a couple photographs of them together (it's not unusual for me to find out if any members of the wedding party are a couple, and making sure to get a couple nice shots of them together) and someone taking the piss out of poor David about how he hadn't yet proposed, despite them dating for 8+ years.
So imagine my surprise when just a couple months later, Kylie reached out to me to say that she was newly engaged (YAAAAYYY!) and wanted to chat about working with me. I was so excited for them!
It was great to see these two lovely human beings again, and this time to get to get to know them a bit and hear about their love story. Starting in Saskatchewan, then heading west to the Kootenays, and evening spending a year in South America, these two are no strangers to adventure! I'm super stoked for their Rossland I Do's next summer.
How beautiful is this growing family? Oh, I just love them!
I first crossed paths sort of coincidently on Instagram, and then again later in another capacity also on Instagram (what can I say-- I'm allllllllllll the hell over instagram!) It was really fun when she reached out to officially book a shoot and we got to actually meet in person!
We met up at Nancy Greene Lake for a snuggly, fall-ispired maternity session. Of course it was a no-brainer to bring along the furry-big-sister-to-be and include her in a few shots. This little family is new to to the area, so we spent a good chunk of their time talking about the pros and cons of small-town-living (of which there are many!) and bonding over a mutual interest in cloth diapering.
This sweet babe is due any day now, and I could not be more thrilled!
