This gorgeous family! What a pleasure.
Charlotte is the talented (and incredibly beautiful & kind) woman behind Kootenay based 'Lota Love Photography' and we got together this past weekend to swap family sessions and catch up. We've traded sessions before and it was wonderful, so & I was thrilled to do it again this season. Even more exciting is that Charlotte, her husband Steven, and their adorable daughter Blair have big news to share....
Coming April 2018 there will be a second little monkey in the Truant Family!!
I could not be more thrilled for these fabulous human beings, and could not be more honoured to have been trusted to help them make their big announcement.
Mitch and Allison are getting married next summer in the gorgeous mountain town of Rossland, BC. They decided to seize one of the perfect fall days the autumn before their wedding to get some beautiful engagement photos done. We met at Nancy Greene Lake, in Nancy Greene Provincial Park for this woodsy-lake-outdoorsy session and could not have asked for more beautiful weather!
Before arriving for their session, Ally warned me that she and Mitch would be "awkward" and need "help with posing". I assured her that that is totally normal, and helping clients pose & feel at ease is all part of my job. But when she and Mitch arrived, I met a couple who were so fluid & at ease in front of the camera that I still don't believe that they aren't professional models. These two have a chemistry that is undeniable, and photographing them was an absolute joy! I am more excited than ever for their July 2018 wedding.
Thank you to all the wonderful families who came out for my 2017 Fall Minis! It was great to meet the new faces, and see the old faces again. Here are a handful of my favourite images from the weekend!
When gorgeous mama-bear, Shondell, initially booked her family portrait session a few weeks ago, she gave me a heads up, "If you can pull off a miracle and have all 4 of us look decent in a photo, I will love you forever. We are "Chandlers"."
"Challenge Accepted", I thought.
We met at Castlegar's beautiful Millennium Park for an hour of walking and exploring. When we initially got going, Shondell's youngest, L*, was quite shy and not exactly feeling it... but she warmed quickly and definitely surprised me with her keen willingness to participate and take direction. All 3 kids absolutely slayed this session!
It was such a treat to work with this beautiful family! I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but judging by the resulting photographs, I think that Shondell just might have to make good on her promising of "loving me forever" because I think I got several shots where everyone looks much, much better than 'decent'.
