When I think back to Lisa & Vik’s wedding, one word comes to the forefront of my mind every time… GORGEOUS.
Gorgeous colours. Gorgeous couple. Gorgeous venue. Gorgeous details. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous.
Lisa & Vik had a traditional Hindu Ceremony, followed by a more Western/North American reception at the one & only Fairmont Hotel Vancouver; arguably one of the most stunning venues in the city. The bride was decked out in gold from head to toe, and radiated opulence & glamour. As drop-dead gorgeous (there’s that word again!) as Lisa was in her wedding attire, her laid back & sweet demeanour always shone through. She’s endlessly charming and sweet even when she looks a little bit like royalty!
This was only my second ever Hindu Ceremony so I spent hours prior to the big day researching the traditions and preparing myself with as much working knowledge as possible. Hindu ceremonies are steeped in symbolic ritual and I didn’t want to miss anything at all! From the Baraat, to the Milni, to all the more subtle rituals that take place until the Mandap— I can only hope that I did the day’s event’s some justice.
When the ceremony concluded, guests were invited to mingle, drink, and nibble in the reception area, before moving into to Pacific Ballroom for the formal reception. What a stunning event!
Thanks to all the incredible vendors who came together to make this event something so very special. And also thanks to my photographer friend & partner Shauna who ended up assisting me on Lisa & Vik’s day & also taking some lovely images while she was at it– I am not sure i could have done it all without her!
